Anthony Kristoff Sotornik

Lead Instructor

1. Experience

Anthony brings over 15 years of competitive golf experience, beginning as one of Future Champions Golf’s standout athletes under Chris Smeal. His early success included 50+ junior titles and appearances at Junior Worlds and the European Junior Amateur Championship. At The Bishop’s School, he captained the team to its first League and CIF titles in more than 25 years before earning a partial golf and merit scholarship to the University of San Diego.

Transitioning from NCAA golf to coaching, Anthony built an international teaching business, guiding juniors, collegiate players, and professionals across the U.S. and Europe. Today, he is recognized for developing elite athletes who compete for scholarships and pursue careers on the Korn Ferry, DP World, HotelPlanner, PGA, and other major tours.

3. Fun Fact(s)

  • Fluent in five languages—English, Mandarin, Russian, Czech, and Slovak—Anthony brings a global perspective to both sport and life. Beyond the course, he is passionate about music and finds balance through tennis.

4. Favorite Club or Shot

Among his favorite courses are La Jolla Country Club and Penati Golf Resort in Slovakia. His most memorable shot came as a high school senior on the opening tee at LJCC, and later, a daring 3-wood at BHCC’s 17th—threaded under and over trees to a tucked pin across water from 266 yards, finishing just eight feet from the hole. (The eagle putt, he notes with a smile, narrowly slipped by.)

5. Go-To San Diego Golf Course

When asked about his favorite social clubs, Anthony’s answer is both “all and none”—a nod to his wit and the fact that he’s been politely shown the door from more than a few.

6. Why I’m Excited to Be Part of SuperSwings / What I Enjoy Most About Helping Golfers

Anthony is especially energized to be part of SuperSwings, where his journey has come full circle—working alongside some of his very first golf students and clients. For him, the greatest reward is sharing the game with people who are as passionate about it as he is.
